Best Liquid Car Wax:

These are high quality products meant to be used as the last step in a system to protect a car which has been cleaned and polished. These waxes have little to no cleaning or polishing ability, and the purpose is to seal and protect the finish. Most are a combination of wax and polymer sealers.

We've chosen liquid car waxes that effectively combine the results of paste wax with the ease-of-use of a liquid formula. Although a liquid formula means that none of the following picks are going to be pure carnauba wax, they all use a blend of high grade ingredients. Although the best liquid wax for you will depend on your individual needs, each of the following selections is suitable for any paint color, and will result in a deep, glossy finish with lasting shine and protection.

For best results, you should put a good glaze on your car before you wax. The best glazes can be found on our Best Paint Car Glaze list.

            Best Car Carnauba Paste Wax:

A wax is a product designed to protect the finish it’s applied on. It’s not intended to clean, remove grit, grime, oxidation, or scum from the finish. All that work has to be done to make the finish as good as possible first, then you wax to protect and preserve it. Cleaners, polishes, and sealers go on first; then you wax.

All the products here claim to be pure carnauba wax with NO abrasives. However even a “pure carnauba” product is only about 30 percent wax, otherwise it would be a wax brick. The rest is a mixture of liquefiers, oils, emoluments and whatever the manufacturer thinks will work best. That’s why there are differences of opinion.

The goal with these best car carnauba paste waxes is not a blinding sharp sparkling shine as there are better products to achieve that look. What you do get is depth, warmth, and glow while at least two companies speak of a liquid look. These products also provide protection from the elements and long lasting durability.

You have to pay attention to the instructions on all these products. Thin applications are usually recommended to get optimum results and to get the most for your money. It’s generally accepted that 8 to 12 weeks is the limit for any of these products to provide effective protection.

                    Best Car Cleaner Wax:

Car cleaner waxes may or may not have abrasives in them but all have some sort of cleaner so they’re sometimes called “All In One” or AIO. Some purists shun them because they say that AIOs are trying to do two contradictory things at once in they’re trying to clean and remove old wax, finish, oxidation, and apply new wax at the same time.

These may be called cleaner waxes but you must still wash your car first. You cannot expect to start improving and protecting your car’s paint by rubbing the dirt on it into the finish. These products are good if you’re pressed for time, or if you simply don't care to go through the extensive detailing process. Although AIO products aren’t ideal, they’re far better than neglecting your car's paint.

We've chosen cleaner waxes that produce consistent results while correcting minor defects such as scratches and swirls. They all produce a nice gloss finish, making it look like you spent much longer cleaning your car than you actually did. Finally, each of our selections are easy to use because when you're already pressed for time, nothing's worse that a product that creates more of a hassle.
